Hunger and Homelessness Action Week

Every year during the week before Thanksgiving, Apostles Campus Church joins with the Campus Ministry Association and other organizations on campus to sponsor a week of raising support and awareness regarding hunger and homelessness in our area.  This past year, Campus Church partnered with the Pop-up Pantry to raise funds and goods for Mason students who go hungry and/or are homeless.  Check back here for more information as we approach this season.

Christmas Celebrations

Every year during winter break, Mason closes its doors and locks the buildings.  During this time we worship with our sending church, Church of the Apostles.  For details about the services that will be happening during this period, contact Josh or check back here.

Easter and Holy Week Celebrations

The past few years, Apostles Campus Church has partnered with our sending church, Church of the Apostles, to do joint Holy Week and Easter services.  Each year a number of Mason students participate in various Holy Week events, and usually one of the services is led largely by the Apostles Campus Church.  A number of students and members of Apostles Campus Church have been baptized and/or confirmed over the past couple of years.  It is always an awesome time of worship.  Check back again for more information about what we’ll be doing in 2018.

Veritas Forum

Every year Apostles Campus Church partners with some of the Christian campus ministries to host a Veritas Forum on campus.  Here’s what the Veritas Forum says on its website about itself:  “The Veritas Forum helps students and faculty ask life's hardest questions. Many of the world's leading universities were founded to answer the big "why" questions. Our mission is to help them confront these questions anew. The first Veritas Forum was planned by students, faculty and chaplains at Harvard University in 1992. Since then, over 200 universities in North America and Europe have hosted over 2,000 Forums.

"The Veritas Forum is committed to courageous conversations. We place the historic Christian faith in dialogue with other beliefs and invite participants from all backgrounds to pursue Truth together.”

In Fall 2015 the Veritas Forum at Mason was entitled “The Pursuit of Happiness” and was a panel discussion about positive psychology and Christian understandings of well-being and “the good life.”  Spring 2015’s Veritas Forum at Mason was about a Christian response to injustice, poverty, and global human trafficking.
